Adi Ahdiat writing for DataBoks is reporting on a recent report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), that an average of 0.47-percent of Indonesia’s population were victims of crime in 2021.
According to the BPS definition, a ‘ victim of crime ‘ is someone who him/ herself or his/ her property has experienced or been affected by a crime or attempted crime such as theft, theft with violence, sexual harassment, abuse and others.
The data shows that Bali is the safest region in Indonesia, with only 0.2-percent of the island’s population being victims of crime in 2021, which is the lowest in the country, while the highest percentage of crime victims was found in West Nusa Tenggara, with around 0.98-percent of the population succumbing to a crime.
