Tempo are reporting on news that Lombok’s international airport recorded a 60-percent increase in the number of air passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays from December 19, 2022 to January 3, 2023.
During the period, the international airport served 99,275-passengers, up from the previous year’s holiday season of 62,230-passengers.
The airport’s General Manage,r Rahmat Adil Indrawan, said on Wednesday, January 4, that “aircraft movements have increased by 50-percent, from 661-aircraft movements in last year’s Christmas-New Year season to 989 this year.”
Meanwhile, cargo volume rose 260-percent to 461,888-kilograms in 2022.
Throughout the holiday season, Lombok International Airport recorded zero accidents. “This is attributable to the efforts and hard work and support of all staff and stakeholders as well as the Lombok Airport community,” Adil said.
Throughout 2022, Lombok Airport served 1,979,767-passengers. The airport recorded 21,015-aircraft movements and the transportation of 10,737,867-kilograms of cargo. Compared to 2021, passenger traffic increased by 85-percent, aircraft movement has climbed by 62-percent, while the cargo volume has increased by 29-percent, say Tempo.
