According to reporting from Tempo, the Bali provincial government has invited President Jokowi and Defense Minister/ President-elect Prabowo Subianto and other ministers to open the 46th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) 2024.
“We invited Mr. Jokowi and several ministers, such as the tourism and creative economy minister, the education minister, the communication and informatics minister, the home affairs minister, and the defense minister, who is also the elected president,” Bali’s Head of the Culture Office, I Gede Arya Sugiartha, said on Saturday (1/6/24.)
He added that his side will meet the state secretariat on Monday(3/6/24,) to speak at length on the opening agenda of the 46th PKB that will be held on June 15, 2024, reports Tempo.
He added that Bali Provincial Government is planning to present the opening of a larger Bali Arts Festival. Unlike the last festival in 2018, when President Jokowi was present to only release the festival parade, Bali has currently invited the head of state to participate on a bigger-scale agenda.
“We will make the event bigger because last time, the president was just releasing the parade. This time, it is complete. There is a speech from the Bali acting governor and also from the president,” he said.
The cultural event have the theme of “Jana Kerthi Paramaguna Wikrama,” or “Highest Human Dignity,” says Tempo.
Sugiartha explained that in addition to the parade, cultural attractions from 13,500 artists and 295 art studios and groups will be showcased.
This year’s PKB aims to invite the incumbent president and president-elect to motivate Balinese artists to be more enthusiastic.
“If the president is present to give a directive, the artists will feel motivated, so their creativity will increase,” he said.
