Bali Resorts Rank Among Asia’s Best in Fodor’s 2024 List

According to reporting from Tempo, Fodor’s Travel, a New York-based travel guide company, highlighted 10 Southeast Asian hotels in its list of the 22 best hotels in Asia, three of which are located in Bali.

Here are three of Indonesia’s most grand and unforgettable accommodations on the list and what’s being said about them:

1. COMO Uma Ubud, Bali

Surrounded by lush and rolling hills, COMO Uma Ubud offers a serene and luxurious escape from Bali’s bustling cultural center. The resort’s contemporary design seamlessly blends with traditional Balinese architecture, featuring thatched roofs and locally sourced wood.

The resort’s facilities are equally exceptional. The stunning jade-green pool, flanked by sun loungers and shade umbrellas, invites relaxation. Indoor and outdoor spas offer holistic therapies such as Taksu massage and Javanese Royal Lulur Bath.

For culinary delights, Kemiri Restaurant serves fresh, locally sourced Balinese cuisine, while Uma Cucina offers authentic Italian fare. The poolside bar provides a perfect setting for cocktails and light snacks.

Guests can immerse themselves in Balinese culture through activities like water purification ceremonies and Pencak Silat, a traditional martial art, and embark on white-water rafting, mountain biking, or sunrise trekking. Complimentary facilities include yoga classes, guided walks, and shuttle services to the city.

2. Four Seasons Resort Bali

The southern beaches of Bali are dotted with five-star resorts, including the Four Seasons Resort Bali in Jimbaran Bay. Located on a pristine stretch of white sand, the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay offers an idyllic beachfront escape. The resort’s 147 villas, each with infinity pools, are designed like a traditional Balinese village.

Guests can unwind on the resort’s private beach, Coconut Grove, or indulge in water sports like kayaking, windsurfing, and catamaran sailing.

The resort’s dining options are also impressive. Sundara, the beachfront restaurant, offers breathtaking sunset views while serving flavorful cuisine. Taman Wantilan features live cooking stations, providing a diverse culinary experience. Alu caters to health-conscious diners with its nutritious menu, while Jala, nestled amidst a fragrant lemongrass garden, serves authentic Balinese dishes. The TELU Bar, with its rustic charm and sustainable design, offers a cozy setting for cocktails and light bites.

3. Mandapa, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Ubud, Bali

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, offers a luxurious retreat with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The three-bedroom Mandapa Pool Villa, with its private pool and sensational forest vistas, is a particularly impressive accommodation.

Sawah Terrace, the resort’s signature restaurant, serves delicious Balinese cuisine featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Ambar offers a delightful fusion of Japanese cuisine and handcrafted cocktails, while Kubu provides an unforgettable dining experience with its innovative zero-waste menu.

Guests can unwind at the Mandapa Spa or embark on day trips to explore Bali’s iconic attractions, such as Mount Batur and Pura Tirta Empul.
