According to Business Today, The Apurva Kempinski Bali has been awarded ‘Best Sustainable Hotel’ at the prestigious 18th Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards (ULTRAs), held at Kensington Palace in London on Thursday (7/11/24.) This global recognition highlights the resort’s commitment to blending luxury with sustainability, emphasizing its dedication to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across its operations.
The award, decided by 28 million GHA DISCOVERY loyalty members, acknowledges The Apurva Kempinski Bali’s integration of sustainability into its guest experiences and operational practices, says Business Today, adding that the resort focuses on four main pillars: Guest Intelligence, Gastronomy, Craftsmanship, and Cultures, each of which is embedded with eco-friendly practices. Initiatives include waste management, a hydroponic rooftop garden, electric vehicle experiences, and mangrove planting programmes, alongside community-supportive projects like Sustainable Agriculture and Educational Development.
Reflecting Indonesian culture and heritage, the resort’s design pays homage to the Majapahit kingdom, while its annual ‘Powerful Indonesia’ campaign celebrates Indonesia’s rich legacy, says Business Today.
General Manager Vincent Guironnet expressed pride in the achievement, calling it “a testament to our unwavering dedication to redefining luxury through a sustainable lens” and emphasizing the resort’s commitment to continued innovation for meaningful environmental impact.
