Sanur Special Economic Zone to Introduce World-Class Beauty Destination

The Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Bali is growing with the presence of an international beauty center owned by PT Bluecross Medika International, which was officially opened with a topping off event on Monday (11/11).

The facility will provide a wide range of aesthetic and plastic surgery services for domestic and international travelers seeking beauty treatments.

Bluecross Medika International has collaborated with more than 20 well-known clinics that specialize in various aesthetic fields, such as cosmetic surgery, aesthetic medical care, body contouring, plastic surgery, hair transplantation, and anti-aging stem cell therapy.

The Bluecross International Building consists of four floors with an area of 10,000 square meters and is equipped with outpatient, inpatient and operating room facilities that meet international hospital standards.

Director of PT Bluecross Medika International, Rudy Surjanto, stated that through this facility, they not only increase aesthetic treatment options in Bali, but also provide an opportunity for tourists to celebrate their beauty and well-being in a special way.

According to Antaranews, the Health SEZ in Sanur, Bali, is now in the top five best SEZ areas in Indonesia, with an investment achievement of IDR 2.99 trillion in the first half of 2024.

Rizal Edwin, Acting Secretary General of the National Council of SEZs, added that the Sanur SEZ is expected to be operational in less than three years.

The Institute for Economic and Social Research of the University of Indonesia (LPEM UI) placed the Sanur Health SEZ in fourth place in the overall ranking of the SEZ area in Indonesia, as well as the second place for the service category.

In addition to investment achievements, other indicators include labor absorption and its contribution to Indonesia’s economic growth. To date, the Sanur SEZ has absorbed 2,853 workers, and in 2024, this area has managed to attract investment of IDR 938.3 billion and create 495 jobs.

The construction of the Sanur Health SEZ is carried out by PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (HIN), which is also part of the state-owned holding PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney).

President Director of HIN, Christine Hutabarat, explained that the development of this area aims to create an inclusive and sustainable health tourism ecosystem, as well as support national economic growth and make Bali an international medical tourism destination.

The strategic partnership with Bluecross International will strengthen the appeal of the Sanur SEZ with advanced technology, quality medicines, and experts in the field of aesthetics and plastic surgery, offering visitors an exceptional treatment experience.

This collaboration is in line with the vision of the Sanur SEZ to improve the quality of life of the Indonesian people and meet their health needs.

Jawapos reports that, The Sanur SEZ, which is regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 41 of 2022, integrates the health and tourism sectors with facilities such as five-star hotels, villas, parks, MSME centers, and conference rooms with a capacity of up to 5,000 people, located on the shores of Sanur Beach.
