International Flights Increase, F&B Business at Bali Airport Grows Rapidly

International flight traffic at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport experienced a significant increase in 2024.

Based on data submitted by the CEO of Regional II of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Wahyudi, traffic at the airport increased by 17% compared to 2023.

This increase in the number of passengers has a positive impact on related sectors, one of which is the development of the lounge business at the international airport.

Wahyudi explained that with the surge in international flight traffic, the need for lounge facilities at the airport is getting higher.

More Special and Comfortable Services

Lounges at airports, which offer comfort and special services for passengers, are becoming one of the facilities that are increasingly needed.

“This increase in the number of passengers certainly has the potential to increase the success of the lounge business at the airport,” said Wahyudi after the reopening of Tujuwan Lounge at the International Departure Terminal on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 as reported by RadarBali.

Currently, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport has three lounges in operation. One of them is the Tujuwan Lounge managed by PT JAS Angkasa Semesta. The other lounges are managed by PT IAS and Garuda.

This lounge offers more exclusive facilities than the public areas available at the airport, including a wider variety of food and beverages, as well as exceptional and more comfortable services.

Along with the increase in the number of passengers, airport managers are increasingly focusing their attention on lounge facilities, which are increasingly sought after by travelers.

“Currently, airports provide public facilities for passengers, but lounges provide more private and comfortable facilities, which cannot be obtained from public facilities,” explained Wahyudi.

Important Part for Travelers

On the same occasion, the President Commissioner of PT JAS Airport Service, Herman Prayitno, also gave his response regarding the development.

He revealed that the surge in international flight traffic at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport was strongly felt, especially before the renovation of the Tujuwan Lounge.

“Before the lounge was renovated, the conditions there were very crowded, and many visitors were crowded. But now, all facilities have been updated,” said Herman.

The renovation of the Tujuwan Lounge brings significant improvements, including increased capacity and a greater number of seats.

This allows visitors to enjoy their leisure time more comfortably without worrying about having to queue or crowd.

With the growing number of international passengers, the need for comfortable and exclusive lounge facilities is sure to continue to increase, making the lounge at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport an important part in supporting the comfort of travelers.
