The Regency of Gianyar’s ongoing dispute with PARQ Ubud has made headlines once again as PARQ’s accommodation business was officially closed on Monday (20/1/25) due to multiple violations of local regulations, according to reporting from Berita Bali.
The closure of the establishment, located at Jalan Sriwedari No. 24, Banjar Tegalantang, was enforced under the Decree of the Regent of Gianyar No. 285/E-09/HK/2025, which mandates the owner and/ or persons in charge to cease all business operations immediately.
To ensure compliance, the Regent of Gianyar issued an official directive (No. 300/0189/POLDAM) to the Head of the Gianyar Regency Fire and Rescue Civil Service Police Unit, I Made Watha, tasking him with overseeing and securing the implementation of the closure, says Berita Bali, who adds that PARQ’s business was found to be in violation of Article 19, Paragraph 3 of Gianyar Regency Regional Regulation No. 15 of 2015 on Public Order and Community Peace, as well as Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2022 concerning Risk-Based Licensing.
I Ketut Pasek Lanang Sadia, Assistant for General Administration at the Gianyar Regency Secretariat, emphasized that the closure adhered strictly to legal procedures and regional regulations.
“The action was carried out in accordance with the law and regional regulations of Gianyar Regency, following a thorough process,” he stated.
