Bali has introduced a new tourism destination that combines the beauty of nature, culture, and healing experiences.
Toya Ubud, located in Desa Kenderan, Tegalalang, Gianyar, is set to become the go-to spot for tourists seeking tranquility with a unique Balinese touch. Situated near the well-known Manuaba Waterfall, Toya Ubud benefits from the calming river that flows alongside it, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
“Toya Ubud blends the beauty of nature, culture, and healing experiences. Surrounded by rivers, trees, and rice fields, it harmonizes with the spiritual and cultural vibe, offering visitors peace and inspiration,” said I Ketut Mardjana, Toya Ubud’s owner.
Mardjana also mentioned that Toya Ubud hopes to stimulate the local economy and small businesses in Kenderan Village.
“We’ll provide space for them to showcase their products,” he added, while sitting next to Toya Ubud’s Commissioner, Putu Astiti Saraswati, and Corporate Sales & Marketing Manager, Agung Eka, on February 17, 2025.
Attractive Facilities and Culinary Delights
With landscapes adorned by waterfalls, rivers, and expansive green rice fields, Toya Ubud naturally provides a healing atmosphere for tourists. The strong spiritual and cultural atmosphere further enhances this experience, making Toya Ubud an ideal place to absorb tranquility and find inspiration.
Toya Ubud offers Hong Restaurant, which serves authentic Chinese dishes with views of the Kenderan Village valley and Petanu River. Tosca Resto serves both Western and Indonesian cuisine with a no-pork concept, along with a variety of coffee, bread, and pastries.
Tosca’s spacious and comfortable environment is perfect for cocktail parties, and each table has electrical outlets and free internet, making it an ideal co-working space. “Most of our staff are locals,” explained I Ketut Mardjana.
Toya Ubud also provides facilities for meetings, gatherings, and special events. Its peaceful setting and supporting facilities make it an excellent choice for hosting events in a captivating natural atmosphere.
“We also plan to offer art performances involving local youth in the future,” Mardjana added.
The Keong’s Snail-Shaped Luxury
For accommodation, Toya Ubud offers modern camping tents that can accommodate 2 to 3 beds in one large tent.
Additionally, The Keong, a glamping unit with unique snail-shaped architecture and cozy interiors, provides a luxurious stay with internet TV. Guests experience the sensation of connecting with nature while enjoying moments of peace, said Agung Eka.

Meanwhile, Putu Astiti Saraswati mentioned that as a place prioritizing harmony between nature and culture, this latest destination in Bali also features the Taman Inspirasi (Inspiration Park), a special area with statues that each tell their legendary stories.
This park serves as a contemplative space that provides insights into the history and local wisdom of Kenderan Village. Furthermore, Taman Inspirasi is aligned with the Tri Hita Karana concept.
“Since its opening in January 2025, Toya Ubud has attracted attention from various circles, including Indonesian local celebrities who admire the unique concept of this place,” Saraswati said.
Blending Nature and Tradition
I Ketut Mardjana emphasized that Toya Ubud is more than just a tourist destination. Visitors will gain inspiration through preserved nature balance in harmony with tradition, and every detail tells a meaningful story.
“This holistic experience sparks curiosity, fosters creativity, and provides each guest with connection and deep inspiration. Discover the essence of Toya Ubud and the sites that inspire,” said I Ketut Mardjana, who is also known as one of key figures in Bali’s tourism industry.
It was mentioned that Toya Ubud is located adjacent to Pura Griya Sakti Manuaba, a sacred temple that has stood since the 17th century and is a place of worship for the Balinese Hindu community.
This temple serves as a religious center for the Manuaba family, descendants of Brahmana Manuaba, who played an important role in shaping the history and legends of Kenderan Village.
In ancient times, it is said that Brahmana Manuaba was sent by the king to bring water to the dry Kenderan Village. With his sacred powers, he was able to channel water to the village, which was later sanctified.
To this day, the local community continues to carry out sacred water rituals at Pura Griya Sakti Manuaba. The life of the community surrounding the temple is rich in arts and traditions, such as sculpture, dance, and various rituals passed down through generations. The presence of Pura Griya Sakti Manuaba makes Toya Ubud a place not only rich in natural beauty but also deeply connected to cultural values.
Additionally, the community around Pura Griya Sakti Manuaba is known for its arts and traditions, which remain well-preserved, such as sculpture, dance, and various rituals that have been passed down for generations. The temple further enriches the cultural ambiance of Toya Ubud, making it more than just a typical nature tourism spot.
“With a mission of cultural and environmental preservation, Toya Ubud is set to become the top choice for tourists seeking to experience the harmony between nature and spirituality. As an eco-tourism destination for upper-middle-class travelers, Toya Ubud brings a fresh energy to the nature tourism scene in Bali,” concluded I Ketut Mardjana.
