Ahead of Eid al-Adha, Bali’s Religious Affairs Office and Pertamina Prepare Sacrifices and Energy Supplies

The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) in Bali is still awaiting the arrival of nine sacrificial cows promised as a donation from President Prabowo Subianto for Eid al-Adha, which falls on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Abu Siri, Head of Islamic Community Guidance at Kemenag Bali, stated in Denpasar on Wednesday that all nine regencies/cities had been proposed as recipients, but the cows had yet to arrive just two days before the celebration.

Recording to Antarabali, “For this year, all nine regencies/cities were proposed, but so far they haven’t arrived, even though it’s already H-2 of the event,” he said.

“So we’ll just wait and see what happens, whether it will be realized or not but we really hope the sacrificial cows from the president can be received by the mosques,” Abu Siri added.

This year marks the first time the presidential sacrificial cows are being allocated to each regency/city in Bali. Previously, only one cow was designated for the provincial level. The nine selected mosques and prayer halls were chosen based on regional needs to ensure the meat distribution reaches more communities.

Abu Siri explained that each of the nine locations will also carry out sacrifices donated by local residents, with the hope that the president’s donation will expand distribution efforts.

“The president’s cow will also be distributed to the public. We hope Eid al-Adha 2025 will run smoothly, that the sacrifices go well, and that everyone in the community can enjoy the meat,” he said.

The nine proposed locations are: Jami’ Safinatus Salam Mosque in Buleleng, Al-A’la Grand Mosque in Gianyar, Nurul Hayat Jami Mosque in Karangasem, Al Muhajirin Mosque in Bangli, Al Mujahidin Grand Mosque in Tabanan, Thoriqussalam Prayer Hall in Sanur (Denpasar), Hasanuddin Mosque in Klungkung, Baitul Amilin Grand Mosque in Jembrana, and Minhajul Athfal Mosque in Badung.

Although only nine sites will receive the presidential cows, Abu Siri emphasized that other areas in Bali will still perform sacrificial slaughtering using livestock donated by individuals, groups, and mosques.

Pertamina Increases LPG Supply in Bali Ahead of Eid al-Adha

To anticipate rising demand during Eid al-Adha, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus has increased the supply of 3-kg LPG cylinders in Bali by 278,000 units. Distribution began on June 2, 2025.

DetikBali reports, “Our retail sales team in Bali has already started distributing the additional 3-kg LPG cylinders since June 2,”said Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, in a written statement on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Ahad noted that the additional supply is being distributed gradually based on estimated increases in consumption per city or regency. The normal daily consumption of 3-kg LPG in Bali is around 266,000 cylinders.

The allocation includes Denpasar (68,000 cylinders), Badung (31,000), Gianyar (37,000), Tabanan (29,000), Buleleng (28,000), Bangli (24,000), Karangasem (25,000), Jembrana (17,000), and Klungkung (15,000).

“We urge the public to remain calm and not to stockpile LPG. The supply is safe and sufficient,” Ahad reassured.

“People should not be easily influenced by unverified information. We don’t want public anxiety to be exploited by irresponsible parties,” he added.

In addition to increasing the LPG supply, Pertamina will also extend the operating hours of fuel terminals (TBBM) and ensure that all gas stations (SPBU) are prepared and that fuel stocks are sufficient during the holiday.
