Bali Police Guard All Exit Points in Manhunt for Australian Shooting Suspects

Bali Regional Police continue to investigate the early morning shooting of 2 Australians at Casa Santisya Villa in the Mengwi area on Saturday (14/6). Authorities are working in coordination with Immigration and the Australian Police as part of the ongoing probe.

Bali Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, stated that the investigation remains active and intensive, involving multiple parties, including international agencies. His team is conducting a thorough inquiry to uncover the full details of the case.

Inspector General Daniel emphasized that the international nature of the case—given that both the victims and the suspected perpetrator are foreign nationals—necessitates cross-border collaboration.

Cooperation with the Australian Police and Immigration authorities is therefore crucial. In addition, a forensic laboratory is being engaged to analyze evidence collected from the scene.

“We’re still working on it. Coordinating with immigration, the Australian police, the forensic lab, and other stakeholders in efforts to uncover this case. Because this involves foreigners,” said Inspector General Daniel when interviewed after the Fun Run event at Singaraja City Park, Buleleng, Sunday (15/6).

Guarding the Exits

Based on the results of examining some witnesses, the perpetrators of the shooting are suspected to be two Australian citizens.

Adding to the Bali Police commander, Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Senior Police Commissioner Ariasandy said that Bali Police have formed a joint team to pursue the two perpetrators by guarding the borders or exits of Bali.

This is done so that the perpetrators cannot escape. He also explained the perpetrators are suspected of still being in Bali. For that, his team has coordinated with other police units to guard the exits so that the perpetrators cannot escape.

“Hopefully they are still in Bali. Yes, we have coordinated with the other police units to carry out strict surveillance on exits in Bali,” said Ariasandy.
