Minister Inaugurates Balinese Cultural Park in Poland

Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, officially inaugurated the Bali Indah Cultural Park, the largest Balinese cultural center in Europe, located in Strzelinko, Slupsk City, Poland. The event was attended by representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw and the Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Poland.

According to Antaranews, “The Bali Indah Cultural Park built by Mr. Miroslaw Wawrowski is truly extraordinary. This is a remarkable artistic achievement across a vast area,” said Minister Fadli Zon during the inauguration ceremony.

Spanning 3 hectares, the cultural park began construction in 2023. The area features traditional Balinese architecture, including temples (pura), ogoh-ogoh statues, performance halls, art studios, Balinese sculptures, and various traditional ornaments.

During the opening, guests were treated to authentic Balinese dances performed by native Balinese artists, further enhancing the atmosphere of Indonesian culture in Poland.

“I honestly didn’t expect the Bali Indah Cultural Park to be this big—it’s truly amazing,” added Fadli Zon, who hails from Minangkabau heritage.

Uniquely, the construction was carried out entirely by Balinese craftsmen, with several materials imported directly from Indonesia to ensure authenticity and preserve the original Balinese essence.

Miroslaw Wawrowski, Honorary Consul of Indonesia and owner of the Dolina Charlotty Resort where the park is located, shared the inspiration behind the project:

According to Muthagamers.com, “At first, I built this as a place for reflection, and all my workers were from Bali. They encouraged me to visit Bali, and once I was there, I immediately fell in love with it,” said Wawrowski.

He also expressed plans to regularly showcase various Indonesian cultural performances at the park and announced future collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali to realize these initiatives.

The inauguration marks a significant moment in the 70th anniversary of Indonesia–Poland diplomatic relations, reinforcing Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy efforts in Europe. Strategically located within the Dolina Charlotty Resort, the park serves not only as a cultural destination but also as a symbol of enduring friendship and cultural cooperationbetween the two nations.
