Bali Governor Urges Media to Use Turyapada Tower, Free for the First 6 Months

Turyapada Tower Bali

Bali Governor Wayan Koster has encouraged television media outlets across the Island of the Gods to utilize the Turyapada Tower as a signal transmitter for telecommunications and digital TV.

Located in Pegayaman Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, the tower is expected to become an integrated broadcasting infrastructure solution for media organizations in Bali.

This call was made by Governor Koster during the 3rd Anniversary celebration of Jawapos TV Bali held in Denpasar on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

With Turyapada Tower, media institutions no longer need to build their own broadcasting infrastructure. The Bali Provincial Government even offers the service free of charge for the first six months.

“There’s no need to rent land, no need to build transmitter structures, no need for maintenance. The first six months are free. Just use it,” Koster said.

Governor Koster highlighted Jawapos TV Bali as one of the media outlets already utilizing the facility. So far, nine television stations under the VIVA Group have begun using the Turyapada Tower. Additionally, 20 other TV channelsare currently in the process of joining.

He also announced that the second phase of the Turyapada Tower’s construction will soon commence, with a completion target by the end of August 2025. The entire construction is expected to be finished by the end of 2026, and the site will be developed into a tourist destination and a new economic growth hub in the Buleleng and Tabananregions.

“The second phase of development will be carried out soon, with a target to finish by the end of August. It will become a tourist area and a new economic growth center in Buleleng and Tabanan,” he explained.

Furthermore, Koster emphasized the vital role of both print and electronic media in disseminating government programs that have not yet been widely communicated to the public.

“We hope that people across Bali will be well-informed about the work of the Bali Provincial Government, allowing development to proceed effectively, productively, and beneficially for the people,” Koster said.

Amid the rise of hoaxes and false news on social media, Koster also urged the public not to easily believe unverified information. He stressed that mainstream media must play a leading role in providing accurate and reliable information.

According to Patroli Post, “Our friends in the media (mainstream media, red) must be active in producing news, so the public receives accurate reporting about what’s really happening,” he told journalists.

In closing, Governor Koster expressed his appreciation and birthday wishes to Jawapos TV Bali, hoping for continued collaboration and synergy with the Bali Provincial Government.

During the event, Koster also took part in the celebration by blowing out candles and cutting the birthday cake. After posing for photos, the two-term governor continued with his official agenda by meeting the Japanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Japanese Consulate General in Denpasar.
