Badung Police in Bali have discovered a second firearm believed to have been used by the suspects in the shooting of two Australian nationals, Zivan Radmanovic (32) and Sanar Ghanim (34).
The pistol, complete with a 10-round magazine, was found in the Subak Anyelir river stream, located in Dauh Peken Village, Tabanan Regency. The discovery was made 15 days after the incident, which occurred on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
“We found the second weapon in Subak Anyelir, Tabanan area. It was discovered 15 days after the incident, about a week after we found the first weapon,” said Badung Police Chief AKBP M. Arif Batubara during a press conference at Badung Police Headquarters on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Buried under Sand
Police are still awaiting ballistic test results from the National Police Forensic Laboratory Center to determine the brand and origin of the weapon.
“It’s definitely a pistol, but we can’t confirm the brand yet as we’re still waiting for the test results from Puslabfor. Once we receive the report, we’ll be able to provide more details,” Arif added.
The firearm was found not far from the suspects’ vehicle.
“The murder was carried out by shooting the victims, and we’ve found a 9-millimeter caliber pistol along the riverbank, not far from where the vehicle was found,” said Bali Police Public Relations Chief, Commissioner Ariasandy.
The second weapon was buried under sand and did not have a silencer. Search efforts were initially hampered by strong river currents.
“It was found about 50 meters from the first weapon. The search was delayed for about a week due to heavy rains and high water flow in the subak, possibly carrying the weapon downstream,” Arif explained.
Other key evidence, including a ski mask and gloves found inside a white Toyota Fortuner with license plate DK 1537 ABB used by the suspects to flee the scenewas also tested. DNA results matched one of the suspects.
“We’re still in the process of investigation. The inquiry is not yet complete because we’re continuing with interrogations and examinations,” said Arif.
Maximum Sentence of Death
Ballistics tests confirmed that two bullets recovered from one of the villa rooms matched the bullets and casings from the seized weapon. The shooting occurred while the victims were at Villa Casa Santisya 1 in Munggu Village,
Mengwi District.
Zivan Radmanovic was found dead in the bathroom, while Sanar Ghanim sustained a gunshot wound in the bedroom. The incident was witnessed by GJ, Zivan’s wife, and Daniela, Sanar’s wife.
Three suspects all Australian nationals have been arrested and identified as Tupou Pasa Midolmore (27), Coskun Mevlut (23), and Darcy Francesco Jenson (37).
They are being charged under Article 340 of the Indonesian Criminal Code for premeditated murder, Article 338 for murder, and Article 1(1) of Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning illegal firearm possession. They face a maximum sentence of death.
