The Ministry of Transportation has established special arrangements for ferry crossings during the Nyepi Holy Day Celebration of the Saka New Year 1948, which falls in March 2026.
This policy is implemented to honor the observance of Nyepi while also ensuring smooth transportation flow, as the timing is close to Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.
These arrangements are outlined in a Joint Decree signed by the Directorate General of Land Transportation and the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police Traffic Corps, and the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, stated that ferry services to and from Bali will be temporarily suspended according to the predetermined schedule.
“In connection with Nyepi Day, ferry services to and from Bali will be temporarily closed. This step is taken to respect the observance of Nyepi and to ensure that crossing arrangements remain under control, especially since the timing is also close to Eid,” said Aan, Monday (March 2, 2026).

The temporary closure applies to the following strategic routes:
