Parq Ubud Closed Until Further Notice

According to reporting from Tribun Bali, the Gianyar Regency Government (Pemkab) has temporarily closed the “Russian village” development of Parq Ubud. Dewa Alit Mudiarta, Regional Secretary of Gianyar’s Technical Team for Licensing Supervision, explained that Parq Ubud does not have the basic business permits as regulated in the applicable laws and regulations, adding that the tourism accommodation located on Jalan Sri Wedari, Ubud, Gianyar may operate again after all permits are complete.

“This closure is temporary until they can complete the basic licensing requirements. When our team came to them, they did not have basic permits such as PBG (building permit) and SLF (certificate of functional suitability),” he said in an official statement, Tuesday (12/11/24).

The closure was carried out as a follow-up to the agreement of the Technical Team Meeting for Licensing Supervision consisting of the Gianyar PUPR Service, Gianyar Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service, Gianyar Environmental Service, Gianyar Trade Service, Tourism Service, as well as Satpol-PP and the Legal Section of the Gianyar Regency Government, according to Tribun Bali.

Head of Gianyar Satpol PP, I Made Watha said before carrying out the closure, Parq Ubud was invited twice to meet with the Regional Secretary; the first was dated May 30, 2024, the second was dated November 1, 2024. In the meeting, Parq Ubud, represented by one of the owners, was unable to show the required basic permits, they are, however, willing to take care of all the necessary permits, say Tribun Bali.

“They signed a statement, willing to temporarily stop their operations until the necessary permits are fulfilled according to regulations,” said Watha.

As a follow-up to the results of the technical meeting on licensing supervision, Satpol PP together with the Gianyar Regency Trantibum Monitoring and Evaluation Team and the Prosecutor’s Office, Kodim 1616 Gianyar, Gianyar Police have installed two banners in the Parq Ubud area to close operations per the agreed statement with a letter of notification of termination and an announcement,” Watha said.

Tribun Bali reports that the banners installed in the Parq Ubud area contain a temporary suspension of operations notice until the necessary permits are fulfilled under applicable laws and regulations, adding that all activities of the Parq Ubud building, which was built on the Protected Rice Field Land (LSD) and Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B) must be stopped and must be returned to its original land.

“The installation of the operational termination banner is an effort to monitor compliance according to the statement letter made by the business owner and according to the termination notification letter from Satpol PP,” said Watha.
