Focus on Quality Tourism, Lovina Beach Gets a Makeover

Lovina Beach, one of the leading tourism spots in Buleleng Regency, Bali, is now the focus of the government’s attention in efforts to develop quality and sustainable tourism.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, emphasized the importance of collaboration between various parties in realizing this development.

“Tourism development takes time. Therefore, let’s do it together by preparing adequate activities and facilities to maintain the comfort and safety of tourists,” said Ni Luh Puspa as reported by AntaraNews.

Focus on quality tourism

Ni Luh said that the development of Lovina Beach aims to increase the length of stay of tourists which is expected to have a greater economic impact on the local community.

According to him, Lovina needs to be directed to become a quality tourism  destination that is different from the concept of mass tourism.

“We want to change the image of Bali tourism, which may have been known to be cheap, into a destination with a quality experience,” he added.

During a working visit to Lovina Beach, Ni Luh reviewed various facilities, including public toilets, piers, planned locations for culinary centers, and pedestrian arrangements around the beach.

Tourism equity strategy in Bali

Kompas.com reports that, Deputy for Destination Development and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism Hariyanto emphasized that the development of the Buleleng area is part of the government’s strategy to even out the distribution of tourists in Bali.

“We launched the 3B tour package (Banyuwangi-West Bali-North Bali) to overcome over-concentrated tourism in South Bali. The potential of Buleleng, especially Lovina Beach, is extraordinary and able to compete with other destinations in Indonesia,” explained Hariyanto.

Collaboration with Buleleng Regional Government

The Buleleng Regency Tourism Office also shows their commitment to supporting this development.

The Head of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Gede Dody, stated that his party would map the necessary facilities and infrastructure and prioritize sea route connectivity.

“Hopefully connectivity through fast boats can be realized in 2025,” said Gede Dody.

With a carefully planned development, Lovina Beach is expected to become a flagship destination that not only increases tourist visits but also supports the welfare of the local community.

This is a strategic step to bring Bali’s tourism in a more sustainable and quality direction.
