Bali Immigration Denies Claims of Russian Colony in Buleleng

The issue of Russian investors who built a colony to control the Pancasari Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng, went viral on social media.

In response to this, the Class II Immigration Office in Singaraja denied the existence of a colony or settlement of foreign nationals from Russia in Pancasari Village.

This was confirmed by the Head of the Singaraja Immigration Office. Hendra Setiawan, who explained that the Singaraja Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team had conducted a direct check on the issue.

No Russian Colony in Lake Buyan

The Head of the Buleleng Regency Civil Service Police Unit, I Gede Arya Suardana, also said that his party had visited the location that was touted as a Russian colony in the Lake Buyan area on Wednesday (4/12).

The Buleleng Civil Service Police Unit coordinates with village officials, including the Pancasari Village perbekel and the chairman of Village-Owned Enterprise, Pancagiri Kencana.

The results of the meeting showed that the village officials did not know about the existence of Russian colonies in their villages. However, they confirmed that the location was indeed located in the Lake Buyan area.

“The information we got in the field, there are many disputes between Village-Owned Enterprise, Pancagiri Kencana, and SBH. Because there is news of the transfer of ownership from Indonesians to Russians, so it is said that a colony will be built,” he said when met on Tuesday (10/12) afternoon.

No Violation of Rules

Arya also added that the land has been state land since 2012 after being used by PT SBH with the ownership Right to Build which expired that year.

According to Posbali.net, Hendra added, if there are indeed 10 foreigners living in Pancasari Village. The foreigners were recorded by the local Village Government.

“They come from America, South Korea, Australia, France and Malaysia. These are holders of limited residence permits and permanent residence permits. Not tourists,” explained Hendra Setiawan.

Local governments, including Civil Service Police Unit have taken to the field to ensure there are no violations of the rules in the Buleleng area and confirmed that there are no Russian-owned businesses in Pancasari Village.

This issue also attracted the attention of member of Bali Regional Representative Council , Niluh Djelantik, who commented on the construction of luxury residences in Ubud, Gianyar, through his social media account and asked that the results of the investigation of this issue be thoroughly investigated with transparency.
