Bali Becomes an Example of Tourism Recovery and Management


The latest World Tourism Barometer report released in May 2024 shows a significant recovery in the international tourism sector.

Detik Travel reports, After being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of international tourist arrivals worldwide has reached 89% of pre-pandemic levels in 2023, and increased to 97% in the first quarter of 2024. 

Global Tourism Recovery: Bali Becomes a Top Destination

Talking about tourism issues, Bali is the place and has become one of the world’s leading tourist destinations. Bali has a well-organized, local culture-based and sustainability-oriented tourism governance.

Commission B of the Central Java DPRD came to the Bali Tourism Office to strengthen the material of the Raperdaan on the Implementation of Tourism in Central Java, Wednesday (18/12/2024).

Chairperson of Commission B, Sri Hartini as the leader of the group opened and conveyed related to tourism governance in Bali.

According to him, Bali has built synergy between local governments, business actors, tourism and the community.

“We know that all tourism destinations in Bali are well organized,” he said through a release on Friday (19/12/2024).

Penglipuran Village: Sustainable Tourism Success

According to RRI, “For example, Penglipuran Village which is also managed by the Traditional Village there so that the synergy between stakeholders is quite good. This cannot be applied in Central Java,” he explained.

Sri Hartini also touched on the promotion of tourist destinations which are considered quite aggressive so that they are famous to foreign countries.

“In Central Java, there is no regional regulation that is in accordance with this regional regulation. So that if we need to emulate the points in the regional regulation for us to implement in our area,” he continued.

Member of Commission B Kadarwati added that for tourism potential, there are three things that need to be considered. The first is natural resources, the second is human resources and the third is culture/culture so that this is interesting to attract tourists.

“Regarding the regional regulation, what steps should we set an example to implement in Central Java,” said Kadar as his nickname. Answering him, Andriyani as the Intermediate Functional Position of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office revealed that Bali’s main potential is the tourism sector.

Penglipuran Village is an example of a tourist destination that has received awards related to its governance and cleanliness.

“For the management of our customary village, it is very strong, managed by the customary village and even for the needs of traditional ceremonies financed from the tourism,” he explained.

“In addition, the community also receives contributions from the village tourism, so that Penglipuran Village is called an independent tourism village. For promotion, we also do it up to the district level, not to mention the Indonesian Embassy where we will go to introduce culture to foreign countries,” he said.
