Sanur Health Special Economic Zone in Bali is set to officially open on June 10, 2025.
Managed by InJourney Hospitality, a subsidiary of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia, the area offers a variety of wellness facilities, including a space for melukat, a Balinese purification ritual that has gained popularity among tourists.
InJourney’s Group Head of Marketing for Destination Management, Anie Tidara, shared that the Sanur Health KEK will carry the concept of wellness. Spanning 5.1 hectares, the area is designed as a green space complete with purification facilities.
As reported by Tempo.co, “The Sanur Health Special Economic Zone will be inaugurated on June 10, 2025, including an operating hospital and hotel,” Anie said in Denpasar on February 19, 2025.
This health center also offers a range of fitness activities, such as yoga, with ‘melukat’ being one of the key offerings, believed to support mental wellness.
“We want to create comfort for patients and their families, so the recovery process is expedited,” Anie added.
Wellness Area 80% Complete
The construction of the wellness area, designed to resemble a forest with abundant trees, has reached 80% completion.
The area features a variety of plants, from fruit-bearing trees to rare species. In the lead-up to the opening, the management plans to add water features to enhance the ambiance.
Before the official launch, InJourney Hospitality has been actively promoting the Sanur Health as a health tourism destination with various activities at their hotel.
At The Meru Hotel, they host yoga sessions and a sustainable waste management campaign while working to reduce food waste.
International Specialist Doctors on Board
To attract the approximately 2 million Indonesians who regularly seek medical treatment abroad, Sanur KEK has also partnered with international medical specialists.
Although some of the doctors have not yet arrived in Bali, they will share their expertise with local healthcare professionals, fostering a knowledge exchange.
Sanur Health will also focus on aesthetic treatments, which are increasingly popular among international tourists.
Anie mentioned that many people from the Asia-Pacific region travel to Turkey for hair treatments, and they hope to offer similar services in Sanur, Bali.
