Denpasar Strengthens Connectivity with New Guangzhou Route

Following the launch of its Denpasar–Perth international route, TransNusa has now officially introduced a new international flight connecting Denpasar and Guangzhou, starting Sunday, April 13th. This new route is expected to become a strategic corridor that strengthens Denpasar’s position as a central transit hub in Indonesia.

Guangzhou is known not only as a rapidly growing business center but also as a vibrant destination for tourism and culinary exploration. From iconic landmarks like the Canton Tower to historic areas such as Shamian Island, the city offers a wealth of attractions for travelers. Not to mention, the rich and flavorful Cantonese cuisine found throughout the city adds another layer of allure.

TransNusa CEO, Bayu Sutanto, stated that this new route is designed to facilitate travel for both domestic and international tourists—particularly those from Perth, Australia, who are looking to continue their journey to Guangzhou, and vice versa.

With high-quality service, this route is expected to become a preferred choice for travelers seeking an efficient, affordable, and comfortable travel experience. Bayu also noted that the launch of this route is anticipated to boost the number of international visitors to Bali, as Denpasar serves as a strategic transit point for global travel.

Get to Know Guangzhou and Bali Tourism

TransNusa will operate the Denpasar–Guangzhou route four times a week—on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—from April 13 to May 31, 2025. Starting June 1, the frequency will increase to daily flights.

According to Kompas.com, “This is a golden opportunity to explore Guangzhou—one of the largest cities in southern China, known as a global center of culture, business, and gastronomy,” Bayu said.

The new route will connect I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport starting April 13, 2025. The launch aims to provide more opportunities for travelers to discover the beauty of Guangzhou, while also supporting the growth of Bali’s tourism sector as a leading destination in Indonesia.

Bayu emphasized that this route is also intended to enhance connectivity between Australia, Indonesia, and China, with a particular focus on travelers from Perth looking to continue their journey to Guangzhou.

Significant Opportunities

According to the schedule, flights from Denpasar will depart at 8:15 PM local time and arrive in Guangzhou at 1:00 AM local time. The return flight from Guangzhou is scheduled to depart at 2:05 AM and arrive in Bali at 7:40 AM. Ticket prices start from IDR 2,388,000 and include a 15-kilogram baggage allowance.

Bayu also highlighted that this new route presents significant opportunities for the tourism industry in both countries. As one of China’s major metropolitan cities, Guangzhou offers a wide array of attractions—from iconic structures like the Canton Tower and historic neighborhoods to its authentic and diverse Cantonese culinary offerings.

According to Jawapos, “With all its charms, Guangzhou is not only a captivating holiday destination but also a city that offers comfort and potential for people from all walks of life,” he added.

He also noted that one of the best ways to experience Guangzhou’s rich cultural heritage is by sampling traditional snacks and street food found along the city’s alleys and corners.

Through this new route, broader and more effective connectivity between Australia, Indonesia, and China is expected, offering fresh travel experiences for globetrotters from all around the world.
