Tourism businesses in Bali have expressed growing concerns about the potential impact of the Israel-Iran conflict on international travel. Many operators fear that global tensions, especially in the Middle East, could lead to a decline in tourist arrivals due to heightened travel anxiety and flight route adjustments.
Some travel agencies and hotel operators noted early signs of hesitation from potential travelers in certain international markets, particularly in Europe. They worry that prolonged instability might discourage tourists from flying long distances or transitioning through regions affected by the conflict.
As quoted from metrotvnews.com: “Rerouting causes inconvenience, longer detours, and higher costs. People start to reconsider their travel plans,” explained Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra, a tourism practitioner in Sanur, Bali.
Bali Tourism Office: No Direct Impact on Tourism So Far
In response to these concerns, the Bali Provincial Tourism Office has assured that the Israel-Iran conflict has not had any significant effect on Bali’s tourism industry.
According to Head of the Bali Tourism Office I Wayan Sumarajaya, Bali continues to welcome foreign visitors without disruption. He emphasized that the conflict is geographically distant and has not affected the key source countries for Bali tourism, such as Australia, India, and China. Flights and tourist activities remain normal as of now.
“Tourist visits remain strong and stable. However, we are still monitoring the global situation ahead,” head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, I Wayan Sumarajaya, said on Wednesday. (antaranews.com)
