Ministry of Social Affairs Gives IDR 15M to Families Who Lost Loved Ones in Bali Floods

Indonesia’s Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, confirmed that aid will continue to be distributed to victims of the recent floods in Bali. Both deceased and injured victims are receiving financial compensation.

Families of those who died will receive IDR 15 million in condolence money, while injured victims will be given IDR 5 million.

“This morning, the deceased received IDR 15 million, and the injured will get IDR 5 million,” said Minister Yusuf at the Parliament building in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

In addition to financial aid, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also distributing basic necessities such as food packages, baby supplies, and other essential items to flood victims.

To Ease the Burden

Beyond the Ministry’s assistance, flood victims are also receiving additional compensation from the Bali Provincial Government and the Denpasar City Government, bringing the total aid to IDR 45 million per deceased victim.

During the initial distribution, 12 heirs or families of the 18 deceased victims were present. The remaining families, who live farther away, will receive their compensation the following day.

“For those who live far away, we will provide the aid tomorrow. Each family will receive IDR 15 million from the Bali Provincial Government, another IDR 15 million from the Denpasar City Government, and IDR 15 million from the central government—totaling IDR 45 million,” said Gede Agung Teja Bhusana Yadnya, Head of Bali’s Regional Disaster Management Agency.

Bali’s Regional Secretary, Dewa Made Indra, emphasized that this compensation is not meant to put a price on human life. Instead, it reflects the government’s compassion and aims to ease the burden on families, especially as they carry out traditional and religious ceremonies for the deceased.

Support for flood victims is not limited to government aid—donations from the general public have also poured in.
