Sanur SEZ Development Completed, Bali’s Economy Poised to Rise

PT Nindya Karya has officially completed the construction of several landmark facilities within the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ), including The Meru Sanur, Bali Beach Hotel, and Bali Beach Convention.

Built to international standards, this flagship project symbolizes a new era of wellness-based tourism in Bali, blending modern architectural grandeur with the island’s rich cultural heritage.

Acting President Director of PT Nindya Karya, Firmansyah, stated that the company successfully completed every stage of construction by upholding high-quality standards, work safety principles, and environmentally responsible practices.

“Every process of development has been carried out with strict quality assurance and environmental responsibility. These new facilities not only support economic growth but also preserve the natural and cultural identity of Bali,” Firmansyah said in a written statement on Friday (Oct 10, 2025).

He emphasized that the construction process was carefully managed to ensure tourism activities in Sanur remained undisrupted.

“As part of the Sanur SEZ development, this project not only expands Bali’s premium accommodation capacity but also offers a wellness hospitality experience through Balinese architectural design that harmonizes with local wisdom, creating elegant tranquility infused with cultural richness,” he explained.

The Sanur SEZ now features state-of-the-art facilities, ranging from international-standard hotels to a large-capacity convention center, enabling Bali to host both national and international events.

Increasing Hotel Occupancy

These developments are expected to generate a multiplier effect for the regional economy increasing hotel occupancy, boosting MSME business activities, and creating new employment opportunities in the service and tourism sectors.

According to Firmansyah, the success of this project lies not only in its construction quality but also in its ability to balance modernization with cultural preservation.

“Bali’s cultural strength is deeply reflected in its architecture, art, and community life. Our challenge was to integrate modern design innovation while honoring the traditions that define the Balinese way of life,” he said.

Through The Meru Sanur, Nindya Karya has embodied harmony between contemporary design and local wisdom, reinforcing its position as a new icon of national tourism.

“The Meru Sanur delivers an unforgettable world-class hospitality experience, showcasing the beauty of Bali and Indonesia to the world,” Firmansyah noted.

This achievement is further recognized through prestigious accolades, including inclusion in the Hall of Fame: The 100 Best Hotels in the World and the title of Bali’s Best Hotels & Resorts.

“In addition, this project earned PT Nindya Karya a MURI Record for the Largest Revitalization of Meetings, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Facilities in a Hotel in Indonesia,” he added.

Firmansyah concluded by reaffirming the company’s dedication to excellence.

“Behind the renewed architectural elegance, we remain committed to applying excellent engineering principles to deliver meaningful contributions and the best works for the nation,” he said.
