The island of Bali is once again reinforcing its position as a global hub for the health and beauty industry through the organization of The Second Bali Wellness and Beauty Expo (BWB Expo) 2026.
The international-scale exhibition is scheduled to take place on June 4–6, 2026, at the Bali Beach Convention Center, located within the Sanur Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This event marks the continuation of the inaugural BWB Expo in 2025, which received a strong response from national and international wellness and beauty industry stakeholders.
Managing Director of BWB Expo, Dr. Diah Permana, stated that the second edition of the event is targeting approximately 150 exhibitors and 5,000 professional visitors from both domestic and international markets.
This figure represents nearly a twofold increase compared to the first edition in 2025, which recorded more than 3,000 professional visitors, 80 exhibition booths, and 107 wellness and beauty brands.
“We see Bali as having a strong appeal as a global wellness hub. That is why BWB Expo 2026 is curated to bring together global industry players within one interconnected ecosystem,” Diah said during a press conference in Denpasar on Monday (February 2, 2026).
Business-Matching Session
In 2026, BWB Expo will carry the theme “Thrive in Bali: Where Wellness Inspires the World,” positioning Bali not merely as a tourism destination, but as a center for innovation and cross-border collaboration in the global wellness and beauty industry.
According to Diah, the expo is designed as a professional ecosystem involving brand owners, manufacturers, practitioners, and investors. This approach is considered strategic in light of the rapid growth of the global wellness economy, which is currently valued at approximately USD 6.8 trillion and is projected to reach nearly USD 9 trillion by 2029.
Diah, an alumna of the Doctoral Program in Tourism at Udayana University, further emphasized that Indonesia particularly Bali possesses strong cultural, natural, and local wisdom-based assets that position it well to become a key player in the Asia-Pacific wellness industry.
Based on data from the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), Indonesia is the largest contributor to the wellness economy in Southeast Asia, with an estimated value of USD 55.8 billion, and ranks seventh in the Asia-Pacific region.
“Indonesia, especially Bali, has enormous potential to lead the regional wellness industry through the strength of its authentic local values,” she explained.
Strong institutional backing has also been extended to the organization of BWB Expo 2026. The event has received endorsement from the Ministry of Tourism and aligns with Law No. 18 of 2025 on Tourism, which emphasizes the development of a sustainable tourism ecosystem.
In addition, BWB Expo has been introduced at various international forums, including the ASEAN Travel Forum (ATF) 2026 in Cebu, Therapy World Tokyo, and the World Travel Market (WTM) in London.
Project Director of BWB Expo, Feri Agustian Soleh, noted that diplomatic networks have played a crucial role in strengthening the international positioning of the event.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has supported the promotion through Indonesian embassies and consulates, further reinforcing BWB Expo’s standing as an international exhibition,” Feri stated.
Beyond being a trade exhibition, BWB Expo 2026 is designed as an integrated Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) platform. The event will feature business matching sessions, B2B meetings, industry discussions, panel forums, and educational workshops involving national and international speakers.
At the same time, visitors will be able to engage directly in healthy lifestyle experiences through product demonstrations, wellness activities, and cultural performances.
Managing Director of Melali MICE and Co-Founder of BWB Expo, Ketut Jaman, emphasized that Bali was selected as the host due to its unique character and strong global positioning.
“This second BWB Expo is an event we designed as a B2B and B2C platform that brings together all wellness industry players over three days,” he said. He added that Bali represents a living space that reflects a harmonious balance between physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.
“These local wisdom values have now been adopted as the core foundation of the modern global wellness industry,” he concluded.
