Liputan 6 is reporting that Indonesia’s Minister of Defense and President-elect, Prabowo Subianto, directly conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday (31/7/24,) the plan to open direct flights from Russia to Bali, to support preparations for the opening of the Russian Consulate General (Konjen) on the Island of the Gods.
“In the tourism sector, we have just approved direct flights to Bali, and we also welcome the opening of the Russian Consulate General in Bali,” Prabowo was quoted as saying in a written statement, Thursday (1/8/24.)
However, according to Liputan 6, Prabowo said that he is still waiting for approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the opening of the Russian consulate general in Bali. However, he said that the Indonesian government is ready to open a direct flight route from Russia to Bali.
“We fully support the plan to open a Russian Consulate General in Bali, and we support direct flights from Russia through both Aeroflot and Russian Airlines,” Prabowo said.
According to Prabowo, this was decided to support the increase in various cooperations between Indonesia and Russia, especially in the tourism sector, says Liputan 6.
