Tourism Potential at Floratama

Highlighting President Jokowi’s Super Priority and Super Premium Destinations, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy are promoting a destination called Floratama, which is actually a combination of Flores, Alor, Lembata, and Bima.

Floratama and Labuan Bajo have been designated by President Joko Widodo as Super Priority and Super Premium Destinations in Indonesia. Having a lot of potential, the development of Floratama – Labuan Bajo as a Super Priority and Super Premium Destination aims to make world-class tourism a leading sector, as well as the locomotive of the nation’s economy.

In addition, the selection of Floratama – Labuan Bajo as a Super Priority and Super Premium Destination is also expected to be able to develop and market local creative economy products to a wider market. The trick is to improve the quality of creative economy products at Floratama, so that in the future it can penetrate national and international markets.

Looking at the long-term prospects, the establishment of Floratama – Labuan Bajo as a Super Priority and Super Premium Destination can also create more job opportunities. Thus, it can improve the standard of living and the economy of the community, including for local creative economy actors. This is not impossible, considering that Floratama has a lot of potential that can be explored.

Not only does it offer endless natural beauty, Floratama also has the potential for interesting cultural, culinary, and spiritual tourism to be developed.

If you want to enjoy the beauty of nature as beautiful as a painting, Flores is the answer. Not without reason, Flores is one of the Floratama destinations that has extraordinary natural tourism potential.

One of the tourist destinations in Flores that is always the target of tourists is Lake Kelimutu, or more popularly known as the three-coloured lake. Lake Kelimutu has three different colours of water, namely green, white, and red lakes that are ready to accompany you to watch the beautiful sunrise there.

Meanwhile, for those of you who want to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world, Alor can be your destination. Alor has approximately 42-dive points that are ready to be dived, complete with its mesmerizing underwater beauty.

Cultural Tourism Potential in Floratama

Alor is not only one of the best diving spots, but it’s also famous for its amazing cultural tourism potential, one of which is in the Takpala Traditional Village. Here, you can see the Fala Foka Traditional House, which is a pyramid-shaped traditional house on stilts with a thatched roof, woven bamboo walls and floors, and supported by four red trees.

Spiritual Tourism Potential in Floratama

Want to visit a spiritual tourism destination in Floratama? One of the areas that can be visited is Lembata, more precisely on Watomiten Prayer Hill.

Bukit Doa Lembata has 14-statues depicting the journey of the passion story of Jesus Christ, starting from Jesus being arrested, tortured, crucified, and buried. Instead of feeling tired from going through many stairs, you will find peace of mind after seeing the statue of the Virgin Mary, complete with a very beautiful natural panorama.

Culinary Tourism Potential at Floratama

Floratama also has culinary tourism potential that is a pity to miss. One of the areas in Floratama that is known for its unique and appetizing culinary tourism is Bima.

There are many choices of Bima’s special food that are ready to tantalise your taste buds. One of them is Uta Maju Puru. At first glance, this typical Bima food is similar to beef jerky, only made from deer meat, which is very distinctive and delicious.

Besides Uta Muju Puru, another interesting Bima special food to taste is Uta Palumara Londe. This dish is in the form of milkfish processed with coconut milk and rich in spices. Guaranteed delicious!
