Bali’s approach to development — balancing the environment, culture, and community welfare — is gaining attention worldwide.
Governor Wayan Koster has outlined the vision of “Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali”, rooted in local wisdom, as the foundation for sustainable and eco‑friendly policies. This includes clean energy initiatives, electric vehicles, stronger organic farming, and restrictions on single‑use plastics.
“Apparently, this policy has received serious attention from global institutions,” Koster said.
Bali was invited to the Asian regional leaders forum in Japan (June 7–10, 2026), though Koster could not attend. Instead, he will represent Bali at a major climate change forum in London, joining leaders from around the world who are advancing sustainable development.
“Thank God, we have received permission from the State Secretary. We will attend this very important meeting. According to the Minister of Home Affairs, this is a very honorable opportunity not only for Bali but also for Indonesia. The world sees Bali’s development vision as inspiring,” he said.
Bali has also received an invitation from Greece to discuss sustainable tourism in November 2026.
Koster emphasized that Bali’s recognition is not only due to modern technology but also its ability to integrate development with cultural traditions and community values.
“The world sees Bali as inspiring the world regarding environmentally friendly and sustainable development. Although the results are not yet optimal, collective hard work is indeed necessary in this life,” Koster continued.
He hopes Bali’s achievements will serve as a model for other regions in Indonesia and abroad, showing that development can progress while maintaining harmony between nature, culture, and society.
