By mid‑2026, Bali recorded positive results in tourism.
Data from the Bali Provincial Tourism Office shows that from January to July 2026, about 3.7 million international visitors came to the island. Australia still tops the list, followed by India and China.
Earlier this year, daily arrivals averaged around 18,000 people. But in June and July, the numbers jumped to 20,000–24,000 per day, even reaching 25,000 on one occasion.
Star‑Rated Hotels See Higher Occupancy
Tourism growth is also reflected in the quality of visitors. One clear sign is the occupancy rate of star‑rated hotels, now above 70%.
I Wayan Sumarajaya, Head of Bali’s Tourism Office, explained that the rise in arrivals has had a direct impact on the tourism industry, especially accommodation.
“Average occupancy in star‑rated hotels is now above 70%. This shows that visitors coming to Bali are of good quality and bring stronger economic impact,” said Sumarajaya.
Tourism activity has also boosted revenue from the Foreign Tourist Levy. As of July 26, 2026, collections reached Rp208 billion.
That figure rose by about Rp3 billion in just three days, after being recorded at Rp203 billion on July 23.
Sumarajaya believes this achievement shows the levy is starting to make a real contribution to funding cultural preservation, environmental protection, and improving Bali’s tourism destinations.
“The most important thing isn’t just how many tourists come, but how those visits add value to the regional economy and support the sustainability of Bali’s tourism,” he said.
