Bali’s investment continues to grow positively despite global geopolitical challenges. This is supported by government incentives and Bali’s strength as a world‑class tourist destination.
“Bali has great potential. By combining tourism, agriculture, and the creative economy, we aim to keep Bali’s economic growth in 2026 at around 5.5–6 percent,” said Achris Sarwani, Head of Bank Indonesia Bali Province, in Denpasar on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Together with the Bali Provincial Government, Bank Indonesia has prepared an investment catalog with 22 infrastructure projects. These include the Sanur Special Economic Zone for Health, street lighting projects, and electric vehicle procurement.
According to Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), foreign and domestic investment in 2025 reached IDR 42.82 trillion, an increase of 17.85% compared to 2024. This investment created more than 68,000 jobs, showing its role as a key driver of Bali’s economy.
Achris also noted that Bali’s success in controlling inflation is an important foundation for supporting trade and investment.
Main Investment Sectors
Even so, Bali faces challenges in spreading investment evenly. About 88% of investment is still concentrated in South Bali, and 97% is dominated by the service sector.
Investment distribution in 2025 was:
▪️ Badung: IDR 22.21 trillion
▪️ Denpasar: IDR 10.61 trillion
▪️ Gianyar: IDR 4.96 trillion
▪️ Tabanan: IDR 2.04 trillion
The top three sectors are real estate, accommodation, and food & beverage services. The main investor countries are:
▪️ Australia: IDR 3.89 trillion
▪️ Singapore: IDR 3 trillion
▪️ Russia: IDR 3 trillion
▪️ France: IDR 1.95 trillion
▪️ Netherlands: IDR 1.41 trillion
“This situation shows the need for investment that is more inclusive, spread across regions, and diversified across economic sectors,” Achris added.
Bank Indonesia predicts Bali’s economy will remain strong in 2026, with growth between 5.4–5.9%, supported by stable inflation, strong business optimism, government incentives, and Bali’s competitiveness.
