With the school holiday season underway, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali is rolling out a special program called “Comfortable Holiday, Full of Meaning”, running from June 22 to July 31, 2026.
The initiative is designed to make travel more enjoyable, especially for families and children spending their break on the Island of the Gods.
General Manager Bambang Tjahjono said the holiday period is the perfect time to create a welcoming atmosphere at the airport — one that blends comfort with education, entertainment, and a touch of Balinese culture.
“We want families to feel that the airport is part of their holiday journey, not just a transit point. With these activities, passengers can enjoy memorable experiences before even leaving Bali,” Bambang explained.
Sweet Experience Zone & Learning Tours
To brighten the holiday mood, InJourney Airports has prepared a lineup of activities:
▪️ Airport Educational Tour (June 25, 2026) — In partnership with UNICEF Indonesia, students from elementary school in Tuban will explore airport operations, aviation safety, and the role of airports in connecting Indonesia.
▪️ Sweet Experience Zone (June 27–28 & July 4–5, 2026) — Located in the domestic departure lounge, this interactive space offers cake and cookie decorating, plus a Perform Zone featuring children’s shows to entertain waiting passengers.
Balinese Culture on Display
The festive spirit continues with cultural parades throughout the event:
▪️ Barong Bangkung performance (June 28)
▪️ Gebogan Parade (July 3)
▪️ Balinese Dance Parade (July 10)
Traditional Penjor Hias decorations line the tollgate and airport signage, reinforcing Bali’s cultural charm during the school holidays, which coincide with Galungan and Kuningan celebrations.
To complete the experience, the airport has added themed decorations (School Holiday and Sweet Departure), family‑friendly instrumental music, and even subtle ambient scents — all designed to create a cheerful and comfortable vibe for travelers.
