Deputy for Economic Affairs of Bappenas, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, said on the sidelines of a visit to the N219 aircraft made by PT Dirgantara Indonesia in Badung on Saturday (21/9/24) that the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas is planning to develop Bali, especially Buleleng, as a hub for Eastern Indonesia’s aerospace ecosystem, according to Antara News.
To facilitate this initiative, Bappenas is also planning to mobilize various sectors to help develop this ecosystem including training centers and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) support.
In addition, by developing the aerospace industry in Buleleng, the hope is to address the disparity between North Bali and South Bali, says Antara News.
The Bali International Airshow saw various cooperation agreements including between PT Dirgantara Indonesia and the Bali International Flight Academy (BIFA) which will work together for aviation training activities, with PT Mulya Sejahtera Technology (MS Tech) for cooperation in the construction of aircraft MRO facilities, and PT Nusantara Turbin & Propulsion (PT NTP) for cooperation in the construction of engine and propulsion MRO facilities, says Antara News.
