According to SindoNews, TripAdvosr’s annual Travelers’ Choice Award for Destinations ranks Bali as the second most popular destination in the world for 2023, surpassing London in third and Paris in fifth.
“Bali rose two ranks, from fourth in 2022 to second in 2023, beating London in third and Paris in fifth, meaning the Island of the Gods is still the top of mind for tourists to travel,” said Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (23/1/2023).
The Minister explained that the rating indicators for the Travelers’ Choice Award for Destinations were based on the quality and quantity of reviews during the period November 2021 to October 2022.
Apart from global rankings, there are also sub-categories of accommodation, restaurants and other interesting things to do at tourist spots.
“Bali’s task is to be a feeder for five other DSPs (Super Priority Destinations.) This is an achievement that we should be grateful for. We hope that in the future other destinations in Indonesia besides Bali will develop,” he added.
Apart from that, the Minister also said that destinations other than the Island of the Gods could be included in the list as the most popular destinations for vacations as the choice of tourists.
“We hope destinations in Indonesia can reach first place as the world’s popular destinations in the following years,” he said.
