Race through Nature: Monkey Forest Ubud Hosts 5K & 10K Run in June


Monkey Forest Ubud will host the Monkey Forest Ubud Run 2025 on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Central Parking area of Monkey Forest Ubud.  

This event offers two running categories, 5K and 10K. Participants will have the opportunity to run while enjoying the serene natural scenery, following green trails around the Monkey Forest and Ubud’s rice fields.

Why You Should Participate

This event not only promotes physical fitness but also invites participants to reflect and enjoy the peacefulness of nature and the abundant fresh air. It also aims to introduce Monkey Forest Ubud as a natural tourist destination and an ideal location for outdoor activities.

According to a statement from Detiksport, “Participants have the chance to win a total prize pool of IDR 25,000,000 for the 10K and 5K categories, with prizes for the top 3 finishers (male and female) in each category. In addition, various exciting door prizes will be given away, making this event even more fun and unforgettable,” as stated in the official release on Monday, March 24, 2025.

The registration fee is IDR 275,000 for the 5K category and IDR 375,000 for the 10K category. Each participant will receive an exclusive jersey and an iconic Monkey Forest Ubud medal inspired by the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, which represents a harmonious relationship between God, nature, and humanity. The medal design features:

  • Front: The Candi Bentar Pura, symbolizing Parahyangan (harmonious relationship with God).
  • Back: Trees and monkeys, representing Palemahan (harmonious relationship with nature), along with a runner crossing the forest, symbolizing Pawongan (harmonious relationship with fellow humans).

What to Expect

The event will start at 5:00 AM and conclude by 11:30 AM, giving participants ample time to enjoy the run and the stunning surroundings.

The event venue, Central Parking Monkey Forest, Ubud, offers a challenging route and breathtaking natural views, making your running experience truly unforgettable.

He was Co-owner and CEO of the Paradise Property Group for 10-years and led the company to great success. He is now Co-owner/ Founder and Director of Seven Stones Indonesia offering market entry services for foreign investors, legal advice, sourcing of investments and in particular real estate investments. He has a soft spot for eco-friendly and socially sustainable projects and investments, while his personal business strengths are in property law, tourism trends, macroeconomics, Indonesian government and regulations. His personal interests are in sport, adventure, history and spiritual experiences.

Ridwan Jasin Zachrie

Ridwan is one of Indonesia’s top executives with a long and illustrious career in the financial world. He holds several professional certifications including being a Certified Business Valuer (CBV) issued by the Australian Academy of Finance and Management; Broker-Dealer Representative (WPPE); and The Directorship Certification for Directors and Commissioners, issued by the Indonesian Institute of Commissioners and Directors.

Per is the Managing Director of the Seven Stones Indonesia (SSI) Jakarta office and has more than 25-years’ experience in Indonesia, China, and Western Europe. He previously worked in senior management positions with Q-Free ASA, Siemens AG, and other companies in the telecom sector. Over the last six years, he has been the Chairman of the Indonesia-Norway Business Council (INBC) and recently become elected to be on the board of EuroCham Indonesia.

His most recent experience is within Intelligent Transport Solutions (ITS), Telecom, and other sectors within the Indonesian market. He is today through his position in SSI and by representing Norway Connect, promoting Nordic and European companies that would like to explore business opportunities in the Indonesian market. He’s also playing an active role to help create the Nordic House concept in Jakarta that will provide an excellent platform for Nordic companies entering Indonesia, where they’ll find a community that can offer support with trusted information and affordable services to enter this market.
